tomorrow my brother goes into surgery to have his leg amputated. i sit here in wonder and awe at the reality of peace. there is no other word for it. God has promised and He has delivered great peace.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
i don't know when peace has been so evident in any situation. there is a level of trust that surpasses all things in human understanding. there have been so many passages that have carried joel, candice and the rest of our family but jeremiah 29:11 is one that has been most called upon:
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
